MOSCOW, November 15 (RIA Novosti) - The Russian soccer team took its second victory in the 2008 Euro Cup qualifiers, defeating Macedonia 2-0 in Skopje.

The Russian team has already played four matches in the qualifying round, finishing two games in a draw against the Croatian and Israeli teams, and winning against Estonia and Macedonia.

The score was opened in the first half by midfielder Vladimir Bystrov in the 19th minute. Fourteen minutes later, forward Andrei Arshavin scored the second goal for the Russian team.

In its battle to reach the Euro-2008 finals, Russia, which plays in Group E and now has eight points, is facing teams from Croatia, England, Andorra, Estonia, Macedonia and Israel.

Russia's national team failed to qualify for this year's World Cup in Germany, but Russian fans expect the new Dutch coach, Guus Hiddink, who previously guided South Korea and Australia to unprecedented successes, to take the team to the Euro-2008 finals in Austria and Switzerland.
