Russia's foreign trade surplus rises 28%, to $111 bln in 9H06, y-o-y

MOSCOW, November 10 (RIA Novosti) - Russia's foreign trade saw a $111.483 billion surplus in January-September, 28% higher than in the same period last year, the Central Bank said Friday.

Foreign trade turnover rose 28.3%, year-on-year, to $336.23 billion over the first nine months of the year. Exports increased 28.2%, to $223.858 billion, while imports reached $112.372 billion, growing 28.4%.

In September, foreign trade surplus rose 3.9%, year-on-year, to $11.334 billion.

Foreign trade turnover was $40.38 billion, a 24% increase against September 2005. Exports expanded 19%, to $25.857 billion, and imports rose 34.2%, to $14.523 billion.
