SARATOV, October 30 (RIA Novosti) - A Russian bootleg alcohol producer has been arrested in southern Russia's Saratov Region, a local prosecutor's aide said Monday.

Sergei Fomovsky may face manslaughter charges for producing and selling bootleg liquor that caused a wave of alcohol poisoning in the region, a source in the local prosecutor's office earlier said.

In the suspect's town of Balashov, with a population of around 100,000, a total of 113 people have been admitted to the town hospital with alcohol poisoning since October 9. Of these, three have died so far.

Regional prosecutors have already opened criminal proceedings against Fomovsky on charges of transportation and sale of products violating safety regulations.
