MOSCOW, September 24 (RIA Novosti) - No one was hurt as part of a highway in Moscow's northeast collapsed and a Ford sport utility vehicle fell into the 15 square-meter hole, emergency services said Sunday.
However, maintenance workers on the site reported that one person was hospitalized.
The collapse is likely to have been caused by a water pipe rupture.
Rescuers managed to raise the SUV that fell into the cave-in, and blocked the ruptured pipe, pumping out most of the rushing water.
Traffic, which was stopped on Akademika Korolyova Street, has been resumed.
"Now we will fill the crater with sand," an emergency service worker said.
