SINGAPORE, September 16 (RIA Novosti) - Russia has voted for increasing the quota of participation in the International Monetary Fund's authorized capital for China, Turkey, South Korea and Mexico, Russia's finance minister said Saturday.

"China, Turkey, South Korea and Mexico will receive increased quotas at the first stage," Alexei Kudrin told journalists. "The total sum of increase is approximately 1.8%."

He said Russia and some other countries would have to give up some of their quotas. "Russia and some other countries will have to yield a bit. This will come unnoticed for Russia," Kudrin said, adding that Russia's decreased quota would not affect the country's position in the IMF.

The Russian finance minister is taking part in a meeting of the G7 finance ministers.

Kudrin also said the meeting focused on discussing the fight against terrorism financing and spread of weapons of mass destruction.
