PETROZAVODSK, September 8 (RIA Novosti) - Another unsanctioned rally in the city of Kondopoga, in the northern Russian republic of Karelia, is demanding that Caucasus natives be deported from the city of 35,000, a RIA Novosti correspondent reported Friday.

Violence shook Kondopoga last weekend after two people were killed earlier in the week in an apparent brawl at a restaurant allegedly owned by Chechens. Hundreds of locals gathered on Saturday to demand the expulsion of North Caucasus natives before a mob torched the restaurant and ransacked a marketplace.

Some 300 people are reported to be taking part in the rally.

A total of 109 people were detained on suspicion of involvement in pogroms and arsons, and 25 rioters were arrested. Seventeen criminal cases were opened following the incident.
