MOSCOW, September 6 (RIA Novosti) - RusAl has taken out a $2 billion syndicated loan to refinance its current debt and use it for other corporate goals, the aluminum giant's press office said Wednesday.

RusAl, which exports aluminum to 50 countries and operates in nine Russian regions and 13 countries, closed a deal July 2006 to raise a record $1.5 billion syndicated loan. But the company and the loan managers decided to increase the loan to $2 billion after bids totaled $2.5 billion.

Founded in March 2000 following a merger of major aluminum plants in the former Soviet Union, RusAl holds 75% of the Russian market and 10% of the international market.
