NAZRAN, August 20 (RIA Novosti) - Two police were killed and their homes burnt in an attack Sunday in the Republic of Ingushetia in Russia's North Caucasus, the local interior ministry said.
According to the ministry's preliminary information, at 03:00 a.m. Moscow time (23:00 p.m. GMT) Sunday, about 15 unidentified persons penetrated the house of a senior interior ministry investigator in Ingushetia's Sunzha district, killing the man and burning down his house. Ten minutes later, they broke into the house of a former criminal police officer, killing the man and setting his house and his car on fire. After that, the attackers retreated.
The families of the dead policemen had not suffered, the ministry said.
The republican law-enforcement bodies are carrying out measures to find the attackers, the ministry said.
