A group of Russian prosecutors rounded off Monday a 10-day visit to the United Kingdom, where they discussed extradition requests with British authorities.
In late July, Britain refused to extradite 16 Russians facing criminal charges at home.
Russia above all seeks the extradition of Akhmed Zakayev, the emissary of Chechen separatists who has been grated political refugee status in the UK, and tycoon Boris Berezovsky, who also lives in the country as political emigre, facing fraud charges at home.
Russian prosecutors have recently opened new criminal proceedings against Zakayev, accusing him of inciting racial hatred in a series of press interviews in the UK.
The UK is also home to more than a dozen suspects wanted in Russia in connection with the long-running case around embattled oil company Yukos, including a company former vice president, Alexander Temerko, and former employees Natalia Chernyshova and Dmitry Maruyev, who have been charged with fraud.
U.K. courts have repeatedly rejected Russia's extradition requests in all cases.
The Prosecutor General's Office was optimistic about the visit saying it was "a step in the development of professional contacts" with British prosecutors.
