CHISINAU, August 2 (RIA Novosti) - Moldova's president on Wednesday put his stamp of approval on a package of bills abolishing the death penalty in the former Soviet republic.
The bills Vladimir Voronin signed into law provide for the ratification of Protocol 13 to the European Convention on the Protection of Human Rights. They also envisage Moldova signing the death penalty abolition protocol to the International Pact on Civil and Political Rights.
