NAZRAN, July 28 (RIA Novosti) - A powerful bomb explosion hit Friday a village in Ingushetia, a Russian republic in the North Caucasus, but left no human casualties, local police said.
"The bomb went off at about 8:50 a.m. Moscow time [4:50 GMT] in the village of Alkhasty. According to preliminary information, no one was killed or injured," a regional police official said.
He said an armored personnel carrier, followed by a motorcade with servicemen, was passing by when the blast occurred.
Police are working on the site to establish the circumstances of the blast and its possible causes, the source said.
According to the Ingush interior ministry, the blast had an estimated power of 2 kilograms of TNT equivalent.
