Russia's M2 money supply grows 6% in June, 17.3% in 1H06

MOSCOW, July 26 (RIA Novosti) - Russia's Central Bank said Wednesday the country's M2 money supply grew 6% in June 2006, from 6.693 trillion rubles ($247.8 bln) on June 1 to 7.092 trillion rubles ($262.7 bln) on July 1.

The M2 money supply has grown 17.3% since the start of the year, the Central Bank said.

The M0 money supply (cash in circulation) increased from 2.096 trillion rubles ($77.6 bln) on June 1 to 2.233 trillion rubles ($82.7 bln) on July 1, while the amount of non-cash funds rose from 4.596 trillion rubles ($170 bln) to 4.858 trillion rubles ($179.9 bln).

Russia's M2 is defined by the CBR as total cash in circulation outside banks, plus ruble funds on accounts of resident non-financial organizations and individuals.
