STRELNA, July 16 (RIA Novosti) - Rosneft is increasing oil production by 9 million metric tons annually (180,700 bbl/d) and may hit the figure of 83 million this year (1.7 million bbl/d), the president of the state-owned oil company said Sunday.
"Every year, our oil output grows," Sergei Bogdanchikov told a news conference in Strelna outside St. Petersburg on the sidelines of the Group of Eight industrialized nations' summit.
"Last year, we produced 74 million metric tons (1.5 million bbl/d) and will produce another 82-83 million this year, which is an annual increase of 9 million," he said, adding that he expected another 9-to-10 million increase next year.
