MOSCOW, July 14 (RIA Novosti) - A task force will be set up in Russia to look into the level of flight safety on Russian-operated jets following a string of crashes blamed on technical failures, the prosecutor general's office said in a news release Friday.
An Airbus A310 crashed at landing in the Siberian city of Irkutsk Sunday, killing 125 people. Three other air incidents occurred Monday, including one involving a plane carrying Russia's navy commander.
The new task force, to be formed with prosecutors, will "check the safety of flights in the Russian Federation in association with Transport Ministry officials," the source said. It will report the results of its work in fall.
