* Five athletes from Mordovia won gold medals at the Russian BMX-sport championship, Slavonic Brotherhood, held in the Bryansk Region, central Russia

* Russia's Nikolai Valuyev, the WBA Heavyweight World Champion, resumed training after knee surgery

* Zenit St. Petersburg soccer club officially introduced two new players from South Korea: defender Kim Dong-jin and midfielder Lee Ho
