Ukraine President Yushchenko meets new speaker Moroz

KIEV, July 7 (RIA Novosti) - Ukraine's president met with the new parliamentary speaker to discuss the situation in the country's parliament, the presidential press service said Friday.

Socialist Party leader Oleksandr Moroz was voted in as parliamentary speaker Thursday night with a majority of 238 votes from his party and two opposition parties in the 450-seat legislature.

"Ukrainian President Viktor Yushchenko met with new speaker of the Supreme Rada Oleksandr Moroz in the president's secretariat to discuss the current situation in the Ukrainian parliament," the press service said.
