Prosecutor General Yury Chaika, who himself was appointed in late June, earlier proposed dismissing Military Prosecutor Alexander Savenkov, First Deputy Prosecutor General Yury Biryukov, and deputy top prosecutors Vladimir Kolesnikov, Nikolai Shepel, Valentin Semanchenkov and Anatoly Bondar.
He also proposed endorsing Yury Gulyagin, Ivan Sydoruk, Viktor Grin, Ivan Semchishin, and Sergei Fridinsky as his deputies and appointing Alexander Buksman, who was a department head at the Moscow office of the Federal Registration Service, as his first deputy.
Chaika was endorsed by the Federation Council as the nation's top prosecutor June 23. His predecessor Vladimir Ustinov was later appointed justice minister.
Speaking at a parliament meeting on Friday, Chaika, 55, said that the personnel reshuffle in the prosecutors office were not a revolution.
"It will be an evolutionary order," he said addressing the members of the Federation Council. "The core of the team has been formed. I have chosen candidates for a specific area of work."
