MOSCOW, July 6 (RIA Novosti) - Russian President Vladimir Putin gave an upbeat assessment of his relations with the president of the United States Thursday on the day of George Bush's 60th birthday.
"I think George Bush is a decent person and a good partner not only to speak with but also to agree with," Putin said during a Web cast.
He said that even if their opinions had differed, they had always agreed on ways to find a solution and Bush had done everything possible to follow that line.
Putin said he called Bush a friend.
There are both good and bad times in man's life, but it is highly important for a politician to remain decent and fair whatever his or her current ratings, he said.
