MOSCOW, July 5 (RIA Novosti) - North Korean Ambassador to Russia Pak Ui Chun, summoned to the Foreign Ministry Wednesday following his country's tests of ballistic missiles, said he was satisfied with talks at the ministry.

The ministry said earlier that the tests had threatened Pacific shipping and violated a missile launch moratorium announced by Pyongyang.

After talks with Deputy Foreign Minister Alexander Alekseyev, who heads the Russian delegation at the six-way talks on the North Korean nuclear issue, the North Korean ambassador said: "We had a very friendly discussion," but declined to give details.

The ministry said after the talks, "the ambassador promised to swiftly inform Pyongyang of Russia's position."

North Korea officially announced Wednesday that it had conducted test launches of ballistic missiles and claimed it was the country's sovereign right. The communist nation launched the missiles, including a long-range Taepodong-2, despite a moratorium on missile tests.

Alexeyev also held talks Wednesday with the Chinese and Japanese ambassadors to Russia on the issue.

The ministry said China's Ambassador to Russia Liu Guchang "was informed of our position on the issue and Russia's readiness to closely coordinate its actions with all partners, including China, to regulate the situation."

Japan's Ambassador to Moscow Issei Nomura told the deputy foreign minister his government was deeply concerned over North Korea's missile tests.

Russia has urged the communist regime to continue observing the missile launch moratorium and said it would consult with other participants of six-party talks on the issue.

The UN Security Council said it would hold an emergency meeting later on Wednesday to discuss the developments of the situation on the Korean peninsula.
