MOSCOW, June 23 (RIA Novosti) - Russian President Vladimir Putin placed state-run United Industrial Enterprise Oboronprom on the list of strategic companies that foreigners cannot buy a blocking stake in, the Kremlin press service said Friday.
Oboronprom is a multisector investment and industrial group established in 2002 and later transformed into the parent company of a helicopter holding uniting producers and developers, with 51% owned by the federal authorities.
Oboronprom's board of directors is chaired by Sergei Chemezov, general director of arms exporter Rosoboronexport.
More than 80 countries use helicopters produced by the holding.
