MOSCOW, June 16 (RIA Novosti) - Rostelecom (RTS: RTKM), Russia's largest long-distance telecom services provider, said Friday it had been served with a claim for taxes worth 3.474 billion rubles ($128.5 million) dating back to 2003.
The company said that of this amount, 2.181 billion rubles (about $80 mln) was a back tax claim while 1.293 bln rubles (about $50 mln) were penalties.
Rostelecom said it would appeal the claim in court.
"The company is a law-abiding tax-payer and believes it can prove that these tax claims are unsubstantiated," it said.
