ASTANA, June 8 (RIA Novosti) - Six people, including two children, have died after two cars collided in eastern Kazakhstan, a spokesman for the emergency services said Thursday.

The representative said the two were cars traveling on a highway between the town of Ust-Kamenogorsk in the Central Asian republic and Semipalatinsk, known for its past as a nuclear test site, when the accident happened.

"As a result both drivers and four passengers, including two children aged between three and five, were killed," the spokesman said.

He said the two other passengers had been hospitalized with injuries.
