MOSCOW, April 28 (RIA Novosti) - A fire in a Moscow detention center has left two prisoners dead, a prison service official said Friday.
"According to provisional reports, two people have died," Alexander Sidorov said.
He said four others - one member of the prison's security staff and three firefighters - were injured, but all refused hospital treatment.
The fire at Matrosskaya Tishina - the notorious prison whose list of former inmates includes ex-Yukos boss Mikhail Khodorkovsky - was reported at 5.50 a.m. Moscow time (1.50 a.m. GMT) and extinguished within an hour, Sidorov said.
