MOSCOW, April 15 (RIA Novosti) - A plan of Russia's electrification should be adopted at the state level, the Moscow mayor said Saturday.
Yury Luzhkov said Russia needed this plan given the situation with power supplies in the country's northwest.
Luzhkov, who is known for his sharp criticism of the management of Russia's electricity monopoly, said Unified Energy System could work more effectively in close cooperation with the government and regional authorities.
"Therefore, we are working out a major program to stabilize energy and power supplies in the city [Moscow] with UES," he said.
