KIEV, April 12 (RIA Novosti) - A working group for the preparation of a democratic coalition agreement held its first session Wednesday in Ukraine's capital.

A Socialist party official earlier said the group would review several draft agreements, focusing on a document proposed by Tymoshenko's bloc and making necessary amendments, which could take about a week.

Representatives of Yulia Tymoshenko's eponymous bloc, the Socialist party, and pro-presidential party Our Ukraine will initially discuss the political content of the coalition agreement.

Ukraine's constitution says the Supreme Rada must form a coalition within 30 days of the new parliament starting work, and appoint a new government in the following 30 days. If the timeframe is not met, the president can dissolve parliament and hold new elections.

Former prime minister Tymoshenko, whose bloc finished second in the March 26 ballot with 22.29% of the vote (129 seats), had earlier proposed to form a pro-presidential parliamentary coalition that would form the government, and said she would only join a coalition if she was re-appointed prime minister.
