MOSCOW, March 18 (RIA Novosti) - The president of the European Commission said Saturday he had received assurances in Moscow that Russia would be a reliable and predictable EU partner in the energy sphere.
Manuel Jose Barroso told a news briefing at the end of his talks with Russian leadership that the best way of advancing energy partnership was to make the market more open and transparent, adding that Russia and the EU had stable relations.
At the same time he said that Russia had a right to protect its own market.
