MOSCOW, March 15 (RIA Novosti) - Russian airborne troops and transport aviation will conduct two-day large-scale exercises in several regions, an official said Wednesday.
Air Force Colonel Alexander Drobyshevsky said IL-76 transport aircraft would conduct more than 40 flight missions, dropping about 4,000 paratroopers and 20 combat vehicles.
"Airdrops will be conducted on March 15-16," he said.
Russian military transport aviation has performed about 50 training missions since the beginning of 2006.
