Voter turnout reaches required threshold in Adygea

ROSTOV-ON-DON, March 12 (RIA Novosti, Anatoly Novichkov) - Voter turnout at Sunday's elections for the legislature of the Republic of Adygea in southern Russia has passed the required threshold, the local electoral commission said.

As of 14:00 p.m. Moscow time (11:00 a.m. GMT), 28% of registered voters had come to the polls, crossing the electoral threshold of 25%, the commission said.

Residents of the Republic of Adygea are electing 54 deputies to the republican legislature in single-seat constituencies and from party lists.

The parties include the Communist Party, the Russian United Industrial Party, the Liberal Democratic Party (LDPR), the Agrarian Party, the pro-Kremlin United Russia party, the Russian Party of Life, the Russian Pensioners' Party and the Party of Social Justice.
