CHISINAU, March 6 (RIA Novosti, Vladimir Novosadyuk) - Moldova's Interior Ministry requested official information Monday about the murder of a reporter for Russian television channel NTV.
Ministry spokesman Andrei Slutu said that Moldovan law enforcement agencies requested information about the involvement of suspect Igor Velchev, a native of Moldova presently residing in the Moscow Region. The Moscow Prosecutor's Office put the suspect on the wanted list.
NTV special correspondent Ilya Zimin was killed early Sunday in his Moscow apartment. His body was discovered by colleagues a day later. Experts said Zimin's death was the result of head injuries. The door to the apartment had not been forced open, they said.
Prosecutors said nothing had been stolen from the apartment. They ruled out any link between the murder and the reporter's professional activity.
