TEHRAN, March 5 (RIA Novosti) - A meeting of the United Nations' atomic watchdog scheduled to convene Monday to discuss the Iran nuclear issue will be a big trial for the agency, an official spokesman for the Iranian Foreign Ministry said Sunday.

According to Hamid Reza Asefi, the meeting of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) will show how the agency protects its members and how it defends its reputation and authority.

We are convinced that the IAEA should refrain from a politicized approach to resolving issues and should do its work professionally and within the legal framework, the Iranian diplomat said.

The March 6 meeting of the 35-nation IAEA board of governors could decide to refer the Iranian "nuclear file" to the UN Security Council, which has the power to impose sanctions if Tehran is found to be in breach of its international commitments.
