MOSCOW, February 26 (RIA Novosti) - Russian President Vladimir Putin has reappointed incumbent president of Russia's north-western Republic of Karelia Sergei Katanandov to a new term in office, the Kremlin press service said Sunday.
Katanandov has been heading the republic since May 1998. In 2002 he was elected the president.
