TURIN, February 26 (RIA Novosti) - Russia's squad Alexander Zubkov/Alexei Voyevoda/Filipp Egorov/Alexei Seliverstov won the silver in the four-man bobsleigh competition at the Winter Olympics in Turin.
In a hard two-day four-run battle for the Olympic podium involving at least five teams from Germany, Canada, Switzerland and the United States, the Russian team came second late Saturday, 0.13 seconds behind the Germany 1 team (Andre Lange/Kevin Kuske/Rene Hoppe/Martin Putze). The Swiss quartet Martin Annen/Thomas Lamparter/Beat Hefti/Cedric Grand took the bronze.
Another Russian team at the competition - Evgeni Popov/Sergei Golubev/Pyotr Makartchuk/Dmitry Stepushkin - finished ninth.
