TEHRAN, February 25 (RIA Novosti) - The Russian nuclear energy chief will discuss nuclear fuel supplies to Iran during his Sunday visit to the Bushehr nuclear power plant, a source in the Russian delegation said Saturday.

"In the course of his visit to Bushehr, [Sergei] Kiriyenko will discuss the timeframe for fuel supplies to the plant," the official said.

He added that the fuel was ready and waiting at a plant in the Russian Siberian city of Novosibirsk.

"Tomorrow, I am planning to visit the Bushehr nuclear power plant together with Mr. Agazadeh. We have agreed that today our experts will work intensely to hammer out technical details involved in launching the Bushehr plant," the head of the Russian Federal Agency for Nuclear Power said.

He added the Russian delegation included a large number of experts on all aspects of Iranian-Russian cooperation.

According to Kiriyenko, Iran and Russia are interested to advance cooperation in natural gas production and transportation, as well as in building nuclear power plants.

About 3,700 Russian experts are currently helping to build the $800-million plant, originally started in the early 1980s by German specialists, in the port city of Bushehr in southern Iran in accordance with a 1992 agreement between the two countries.
