BANGALORE (India), February 5 (RIA Novosti) - Russia and India are to triple their trade to $10 billion before 2010, the Russian economic development and trade minister said Sunday.

Speaking at a meeting with Indian businessmen in Bangalore, German Gref said both countries needed to expand their mutual trade from the level of $2.9 billion registered in 2005 to $10 billion before 2010.

Gref said he would sign a relevant agreement with his Indian counterpart on February 6.

Such countries as Russia and India possess large potential and should have commodity turnover running into tens of billions of U.S. dollars, Gref said.

The Russian minister expressed the hope that during the current trip Russian and Indian businessmen would establish contacts enabling them to boost bilateral trade.
