TBILISI, February 3 (RIA Novosti) - Georgia's security services have discovered an anti-aircraft missile aimed in the direction of a flight route regularly taken by the president's plane, the Interior Ministry said Friday.
A Strela-1 guided missile launcher set up on a tree was found on Friday night in eastern Georgia near the zone of the conflict between Georgia and the self-proclaimed republic of South Ossetia, the ministry said in a statement.
According to the ministry, operatives received information about the heat-seeking missile located near a railway station in the town of Kareli in eastern Georgia on February 2.
A group of bomb disposal experts arrived at the site and destroyed the missile.
