LIPETSK, January 23 (RIA Novosti) - U.S. aircraft manufacturer Boeing may be given resident status in a special economic zone in Dubna near Moscow, a senior official said Monday.

Yury Zhdanov, the head of the Federal Agency for Special Economic Zones, said Boeing was interested in working "in a technical-commissioning zone in the Moscow Region, where there are plans for a center to build new generation aircraft."

The Economic Development Ministry and the agency are currently holding talks with the company on the issue, he said. However, Zhdanov declined to name which other major foreign corporations were interested in taking up residency in the zone, which will present companies with tax breaks and other privileges.

"We will start naming other major residents after the heads of territorial departments of the Federal Agency for Special Economic Zones are appointed, and after it has been clarified who is responsible for giving companies SEZ status," he said.

Zhdanov will deliver a report to the government on May 18 on the progress of the six SEZs currently being created in Russia.
