TBILISI, January 22 (RIA Novosti) - Gazexport, an export arm of Russian natural gas giant Gazprom, said Sunday it was looking for various possibilities to maintain gas supplies to Georgia and would take efforts to restore gas imports to the republic as soon as possible.

As it was earlier reported, the blasts early Sunday on trunk pipelines running through southern Russia cut natural gas supplies to Georgia and Armenia.

David Morchiladze, Gazexport's representative in Georgia, said it could take three days to restore normal gas supplies to the republic.

"The company will do everything possible to ensure normal gas supplies to Georgia as quickly as possible in accordance with the accords reached earlier," he said.

President of Georgia Mikhail Saakashvili demanded from Russia to take urgent measures to restore energy supplies to the republic.
