MOSCOW, January 21 (RIA Novosti) - No. 12 seed Anastasia Myskina progressed to the fourth round in the women's draw of the Australian Open Saturday.
Myskina, the 2004 French Open champion, defeated Sweden's Sofia Arvidsson 6-3, 6-1 in two sets, becoming the fourth Russian woman to reach the fourth round, after Svetlana Kuznetsova, Yelena Vesnina and Nadezhda Petrova. She will face No. 7 seed Patty Schnyder of Switzerland in round four.
No. 23 seed Igor Andreyev was defeated by Slovakia's Dominik Hrbaty 6-1, 4-6, 3-6, 6-2, 4-6 in a five-set match in the third round.
No. 5 seed Nikolai Davydenko is the only remaining Russian player in the men's competition. He is currently playing his third round match with Australia's Nathan Healey.
