KUALA-LUMPUR, January 15 (RIA Novosti, Andrei Chekushkin) - A delegation of Russia's Federation Council, the upper house of parliament, has arrived in Indonesia's capital Jakarta to participate in the 14th session of the Asia-Pacific parliamentary forum, the press office of the Federation Council said Sunday.
Federation Council Speaker Sergei Mironov who is heading the delegation, will speak at the forum's plenary session and hold talks with the heads of the other delegations at the forum. He will also meet with the Indonesian leadership to discuss a wide range of political and economic issues, including energy security, and measures against terrorism. The parties will also discuss measures to control the spread of bird flu.
On January 17, the Russian delegation will arrive in Singapore to visit the national parliament and hold talks with the local leadership.
On January 18, the Russian delegation will return to Jakarta to continue its work at the Asia-Pacific parliamentary forum.
