KIEV, January 1 (RIA Novosti) - Ukraine's national natural gas company Naftogaz said Sunday it had sent Moscow a draft contract stipulating new market prices for Russian gas starting from Q2 2006.

"The draft contract that stipulates the move to market prices for gas starting from Q2 2006 was sent to Russia December 31 at 11.09 p.m. Moscow time (8.09 p.m. GMT)," the company said in a news release posted on its Web site.

Naftogaz said it had held talks with Russian energy giant Gazprom December 31, discussing the terms of Russian gas transit via Ukraine and prices for supplies to Ukraine in 2006.

"Ukraine accepted all the demands the Russian side set out at the talks. We agreed that the transit terms and the price for gas supplies would remain intact in Q1 2005," Naftogaz said.
