PARIS, December 21 (RIA Novosti, Andrei Nizamutdinov) - European aircraft manufacturer Airbus has placed extra orders with two Russian manufactures, Irkut and the Voronezh Aircraft Building Association (VASO), the Airbus press service said Wednesday.

The Russian aviation companies will provide components for A-320, À-330/À-340 and À-380 airliners.

The orders will be worth $200 million over a 10-year period, implying a doubling of the current rate of orders with the Russian companies.

According to the contracts, the first Russian-made components will be delivered from late 2006 to early 2007.

Axel Krein, Airbus senior vice president for industrial cooperation with Russia, said the new orders were part of a comprehensive program of cooperation with the Russian industry under a partnership agreement signed between the European Aeronautic Defense and Space Company (EADS), a major shareholder of Airbus, and the Russian Aerospace Agency.

The official said the program would cost over $800 million over the next 10 years.
