PETROZAVODSK, December 21 (RIA Novosti, Alexei Ukkone) - A man who ordered the contract killing of his ex-wife to obtain parental rights to his daughter has been sentenced to 13 years in jail in Petrozavodsk, the Prosecutor's Office of the Republic of Karelia in Russia's northwest said Wednesday.
Alexander Ostashev failed to obtain parental rights to his four-year old daughter through a court, and paid his friend Alexander Mitin $3,000 to carry out the contract killing.
Mitin, sentenced to 15 years, killed the woman with an axe, burned the corpse, and buried the remains.
