VOLGOGRAD, December 19 (RIA Novosti, Irina Ilyicheva) - A 24-year old woman has been arrested in Volgograd, 550 miles southeast of Moscow, for deliberately infecting her sexual partners with HIV, the virus that causes AIDS, the local prosecutor's office said Monday.
Forty men who had sex with her since 2001 are currently undergoing HIV tests. One of them has already tested positive.
The woman, who was aware of her disease and had written notification warning her that she would be held criminally liable if she continued to enter sexual relations with men without informing them that she was HIV positive, now faces five years in prison.
