MOSCOW, December 16 (RIA Novosti) - The Russian Foreign Ministry summoned Pak Ui Chun, the North Korean ambassador to Russia, Friday to discuss the detention of a Russian ship in North Korean waters.

Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Alexander Saltanov expressed concern over "the unjustifiably protracted investigation of the incident with the Russian ship."

The Terney was returning to the Russian Pacific port of Vladivostok from the South Korean port of Busan when it encountered a heavy storm in the Sea of Japan. Trying to escape the storm, it neared the shores of North Korea on December 5 and was detained by North Korean border-guards.

Saltanov demanded that the ship and crew be allowed to leave North Korea's waters and return home.
