LONDON, December 15 (RIA Novosti) - The council of directors of oil major Yukos accepted the resignation of the company's Financial Director Bruce Misamore Thursday, the company said in a statement.
Misamore's resignation will take effect after December 31
"The Yukos situation makes it impossible for me to represent the company or fulfill the financial director's obligations efficiently. I did my best to solve the company's problems," Misamore was quoted by the respected business daily Vedomosti as saying.
Frank Rieger, the first deputy president of Yukos RM, which oversees oil refining and sales, will take over for Misamore as acting financial director in the coming year.
A Yukos source said that although Misamore could claim money equivalent to 2.5 million Yukos shares (the packet worth $4.2 million), the remuneration might be limited to a year's salary with bonuses worth about $1 million.
Misamore was appointed financial director in October 2001.
