Minister Igor Levitin told EU Commissioner for Transport Jacques Barrot that transport dialog with the EU was a priority for Russia, and expressed his hope that transport issues would be resolved swiftly.
Russian Economic Development and Trade Minister German Gref said after the talks with the European Commission representatives in Brussels that the Russian side would submit relevant proposals to the European Commission by the end of 2005.
He said the talks also addressed transit to the Kaliningrad Region, Russia's exclave inside the EU, anti-dumping measures against Russian products, and Russia's accession to the WTO.
According to Gref, four problems were holding back this process, in particular, an investment agreement on the car industry, an agreement on alcohol products, the unification of railway tariffs, and the protection of intellectual property.
