Below is a summary of the main military-related events in Russia, the CIS and neighboring countries on December 5, 2005.

* Russian Defense Minister Sergei Ivanov met with Indian Prime Minister Manmohan Singh to discuss the joint production of military hardware for sales to third countries and sign an intellectual property agreement

* Following the talks, Ivanov told a Moscow news conference that:

- Russia was ready to supply Iran with Tor-M1 anti-aircraft systems

- Russia had no plans to supply India with Tu-160 Blackjack or Tu-95 Bear strategic bombers

- Russia and India could both use the Aini airfield in Tajikistan

* The Defense Ministry set the value of housing certificates for military personnel at 29,000 rubles ($1,000) per square meter in Moscow and the Moscow Region, at 22,000 rubles ($760) in St. Petersburg and the Leningrad Region and at 16,000 rubles ($552) in Kaliningrad

* The Defense Ministry increased the amount of "field" allowance for military personnel serving in the Chechen republic to 300 rubles (more than $10) per day while abolishing the so-called "combat" allowance

* Russia will exhibit a wide range of naval weaponry at the Langkawi International Maritime and Aerospace Exhibition-LIMA'2005, opening December 6 in Malaysia
