TBILISI, November 19 (RIA Novosti, Marina Kvaratskhelia) - A Russian delegation, including representatives of the Emergency Situations Ministry, the Interior Ministry and the Chechen Migration Service, went to the Pankisi Gorge (Georgia) Saturday to meet with displaced Chechens.
"Our task is to update the lists of Russian citizens who have applied for repatriation. We will talk to them and decide on how they can return - by land or by air," Alexander Rostovtsev, a representative of the Russian Interior Ministry Migration Service, said before going to the Pankisi Gorge.
According to preliminary reports, 70 displaced persons have already asked to be repatriated. They will be temporarily accommodated in Grozny.
Georgian authorities say there are 2,293 displaced persons from Chechnya living in Georgia's Akhmet region.
