BUSAN (South Korea), November 19 (RIA Novosti) - Russian President Vladimir Putin said Saturday the recent APEC summit had fixed the regional countries' cooperation in defending the principles of free trade.
"The summit contributed to uniting all its participants in the fight against international terrorism and developing single approaches to prevention of industrial and natural disasters and establishment of joint mechanisms to overcome their consequences," Putin said.
Presidential press secretary Alexei Gromov told journalists that during the summit, President Putin had held short meetings with delegations from Singapore, New Zealand, Canada, Australia, Peru and other countries, and had several conversations with U.S. President George Bush.
