TEHRAN, November 18 (RIA Novosti) - Secretary of Iran's National Security Supreme Council Ali Larijani confirmed Friday that uranium conversion had been resumed at the Isfahan nuclear facility.

"This work has started, and the Isfahan Nuclear Technology Center will continue operations," Larijani said.

He denied media allegations that Iran had informed the EU troika (Britain, France, and Germany) that it had partly suspended research at Isfahan facilities. "Such information absolutely contradicts reality," he said.

The secretary confirmed Tehran's desire to continue talks on its nuclear program. He said talks with the EU troika would likely resume after a session of the Board of Governors of the International Atomic Energy Agency scheduled for November 24.

Media reports had surfaced that Iran had begun uranium enrichment at the Isfahan Nuclear Technology Center. In fact, the center had begun uranium conversion, the processing of uraniferous ore into uranium hexafluoride. Iran is planning to enrich uranium at its Natanza facilities, where operations remain suspended.
